Sunday Mornings

Our church exists to glorify Jesus Christ, and He is the focus of our time together each Sunday morning. For those exploring who Jesus is, gathering with us on Sunday morning is a great way to learn more.  For those whose lives have been changed by the Gospel of Jesus, our Sunday morning gathering is a good place to celebrate and worship Him with other Christians.  For those who need healing and renewal, the Sunday service can be a time of retreat and refreshment. It is not, however, a place where you must “put your best foot forward.”  We welcome you just as you are.

Our Sunday morning time together is usually spent in three ways:

Worship – We begin with about 20 minutes of Christ-centered, Gospel-rich worship music.  We prefer songs with Gospel-based lyrics to engage not only our minds but our hearts as well, inspiring us to live for Christ and His cause.  We prefer worship music that involves the whole church, rather than being oriented toward performance.

Teaching – After a short break to allow our children to leave for Sunday School classes, we spend 35-40 minutes learning from God’s Word.  We are committed to mainly expository teaching.  Starting with a passage of the Bible, we seek to understand it meaning, then put it into practice in our lives.

Prayer – Prayer time is a treasured part of our service, as praying together expresses our dependence upon God and our care for one another.  At the end of our service, we take 10-15 minutes to share prayer requests with one another.  When someone makes a request for prayer, another person will pray for that request.  No one is ever required to share or pray.

The setting – We meet at 10 AM in the cafeteria of the George Martin Elementary School in Seekonk, MA. We worship and fellowship in a casual, relational setting with refreshments available.  We do not pass an offering plate, but a box to receive contributions to the Godspeed ministry is available at the back of the room.
